Narrative

The narrative of a film is the way in which the events/plot of the storyline are put together and portrayed towards an audience. The construction of a narrative is of high importance as the way in which the events are structured affects the way in which the audience views/feels towards the plot itself; for example, the positioning of events can decipher whether or not the audience feels sympathy towards a character or whether the character induces feelings of hatred or dislike.

When creating an animation of "Terror In The Night" with my group, we experimented with the narrative and it's influence on the viewers. It came to our attention that the viewers attitudes towards the antagonist were not those intended and that when the sequence of events were changed, the story itself changed.
